Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed. Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to providers. Responsible for stocking supplies and maintenance of exam rooms, front desk, and reception area; ensure providers have medical supplies needed. Responsible for completing order sheets to maintain supply inventory levels; regularly checking expiration dates on supplies. Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files. Answer phone calls, collect and sort daily incoming and outgoing postal correspondence Ensure reception is well maintained Conduct courtesy callbacks for patient follow-up. Perform opening and closing duties, which include cashing out, end-of-day communication, and securing the building. Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed. All other duties as assigned. The North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room. There is a pharmacist present on the unit to assist the RNs with medication questions/concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday. Rounds involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family. The Nurse Practitioner for this role is a key clinical provider within our Women’s Metabolic Health program, delivering comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan. This role focuses on the interconnected dimensions of metabolic, mechanical, and mental health, providing evidence-based, patient-centered care that empowers women to achieve sustainable wellness. This is a full-time (40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, no weekends) virtual position. 7 clinical hours/day (M-F) with 1 admin hour/day. Conducts age-appropriate, full-scope assessments, including detailed histories and physical examinations, in alignment with departmental protocols. Performs intake assessments for women at risk or with Overweight or Obesity and/or symptomatic menopause. Provides patient education on obesity as a chronic, multifactorial condition, emphasizing long-term health strategies. Utilizes motivational interviewing to promote a healthy lifestyle, including habit change and formation in the areas of nutrition, activity, sleep, and stress management.
