Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Licensed Practical Nurse Care Guide is responsible for registering, collecting payments, rooming, assisting the provider with care and treatment, discharging, and following-up with patients. It is the role of the Care Guide to companion patients and their “secondary guests" through the entire experience to maximize clinical excellence, reduce treatment times, and maximize the patient experience; before, during, and after the patient visit. The Care Guide is responsible for assisting the provider with front office and back office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This role is responsible for a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude. Acting as the patient advocate, the Care Guide has continuous contact with providers, patients, patient families/significant others, community agencies, and patient care staff and management. This role will be expected to float within the region; however, will also be exptected to travel and work in other regions within the platform as needed. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma/ GED Licensure/ Certification: LPN License, and American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers) to be completed within 2 weeks of hire date Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Assists provider in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations as directed by provider to facilitate accurate diagnosis. Collects and prepares laboratory specimens and complete associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency. Executes and documents ongoing patient communication, as directed by provider, prioritizes communication to the provider, responds to patient questions and requests to ensure efficient use of provider time and timely response to patients needs Administers medications and vaccines including intradermal and skin testing under the direction of a provider and per scope of practice. Cleans and sets up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensures required levels of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient.
