Nurse Practitioner – Ambulatory Surgical Center Job Summary: The Nurse Practitioner provides high-quality, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative process. This includes pre-operative evaluations, post-operative management, patient education, and collaboration with the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient care delivery. Depending on specialty and state regulations, the PA may also assist with or perform minor procedures. Key Responsibilities: Pre-Operative Evaluation: Conduct thorough histories and physical exams, review medical records, and order or interpret labs to determine surgical readiness. Quality Improvement: Participate in performance and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of elderly patients in nursing homes. Diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient's mental health needs. Provide medication management and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient care. Offer counseling and psychotherapy services to patients and their families. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Participate in clinical meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives. Requirements: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York with specialization in Psychiatry (PMHNP). Ability to work independently and effectively manage a caseload of patients.
