Job Description The Outpatient Pulmonary Clinical Nurse II, under the supervision of the Clinical Manager and Practice Manager, delivers direct patient care to adult pulmonary and ILD outpatient population in multiple sub-specialties. This nurse is experienced and highly skilled with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the pulmonary disease process, the major treatment modalities, symptom management, supportive care, and patient education. At this operational level, the nurse proactively embraces the Pulmonary Nursing Society/Standards of Pulmonary Nursing practice to utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. The nurse utilizes an interdisciplinary approach across the continuum of care with adherence to National Patient Safety Goals set forth by regulatory requirements. The nurse is recognized and utilized as a clinical resource and demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization. S/he is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff, and for daily operations. The Clinical Nurse II utilizes the nursing process for patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic clinical care. All components of nursing care will be individualized to meet the patient’s physiological and psychosocial developmental level and needs. S/he consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor. S/he will assist with management of patient care administered by the UCSF Pulmonary Center physicians and other members of the clinical and nursing team. Responsibilities Conduct patient assessments, identifying needs and responses to medical regimens through observation and documentation of signs/symptoms and emotional state. Work cooperatively with the healthcare team to develop short and long-term goals for patient care, considering physical, emotional, and cultural factors. Provide individualized nursing care, considering patients' growth and developmental needs, and demonstrate an understanding of age-specific care requirements. Prepare and instruct patients on specific diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, perform treatments, and maintain safe practice with equipment. Evaluate and document patients' responses to nursing care, ensuring an understanding of cognitive, physical, and emotional maturation processes. Administer medication, maintain pharmacology knowledge, and comply with infection control and safety policies. Respond appropriately in emergencies, demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures and equipment. Maintain open communication with the healthcare team, ensuring continuity of care for patients and families. Organize activities based on patient needs, adjusting clinical support to reflect practice priorities. Foster positive public relations, demonstrating effective communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and a supportive manner. Minimum 2 years’ recent RN experience in an outpatient medical specialty setting (within the past 2 years). Training and experience with electronic health record. Registered Nurse - OBGYN/Fertility

Job Description Under general supervision, guided by the policies and procedures of the Center for Reproductive Health (CRH) and UCSF Ambulatory Services, and in collaboration with the physician staff, the Registered Nurse (RN) role crosses care settings to promote health and healing for a specific patient population. The primary focus of the role is to improve access, timeliness to treatment and care coordination within the healthcare organization. The nurse performs established nursing procedures using clinical knowledge to care for patients. The RN collaborates with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team in providing excellent clinical care to all patients attending CRH for medical services and treatment. The nurse consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor. The RN is a licensed registered professional nurse who is a clinical expert and actively promotes the delivery of evidence-based nursing interventions, demonstrates competence in the management of patient flow and daily clinic operations, and possesses expertise in the specialty nursing area and specific patient population of REI (Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility). The RN provides expert nursing care to all patients who are receiving assisted and routine reproductive techniques and services.
