Ensures policy and procedures are followed including infection control, privacy and confidentiality. Primary Responsibilities: Performs all duties within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant (Items included are provider supervised procedures, injections, diagnostic testing, phlebotomy) Coordinates healthcare screening results as directed by providers, company standards, and policies Travels with provider to patient homes, mobile units, and other locations within the NTX Market and surrounding NTX Market to support the delivery of (departmental) services in the community setting Performs and completes all quality program health screenings per required metrics Processes appropriate documents in an organized and accurate manner and copies all physicians on patient results and quality forms submitted Records patient care documentation in the medical records accurately and in a timely matter according to company policy Reviews all medical information, test results and suvey questions prior to the patient leaving to ensure all information is captured Ensuring that supplies are available, stock is inventoried, log data is accurate and supplies are rotated. Follows up with discrepancies Presents abnormal results to the provider promptly to ensure there is not an emergent condition that needs immediate attention Post visit preparation of the clinical team charts for faxing, filing and forwarding to the PCP offices Responsible for ensuring the completion of compiling results and entering chart noted prior to visit. This includes, but is not limited to, pull hospital records, lab results, specialty notes, and etc. Ensures that follow up appointment dispositions are documented in CDSS and completed In eCW Reviewing and ensuring that post visit recommendations from provider are completed such as prescriptions and referrals Maintains patient confidentiality of all materials handled within the department as well as proper release of patient information at all times Maintains certifications (MA and CPR) and quality control standards Promotes positive work environment May assist other members of their team with coordination of work Performs all other related duties as assigned Operates diagnostic equipment (cannot interpret tests), assists in removal of staples from superficial wounds, changes wound dressing and obtains cultures, administers non intravenous medication performs simple specimen collection via noninvasive techniques and collects blood specimens via venipuncture or via capillary, performs EKGs. The Lead MA will work with the MA doing the ordering to ensure that a once-per-month ordering paradigm is developed. The Lead MA will ensure that supplies are ordered in such a way that the practice seldom is out of a needed item. When a clinician requests a change in room set up or additional supplies or equipment not previously stocked, the Lead MA will work with the Practice Leader on Budget development and approval on the items. The Lead MA will work with the Practice Leader in evaluating vendors and vendor pricing during contract renewal time. The Lead MA and his or her designee will also check the emergency kit once per month to ensure there are no missing or expired meds or supplies. The Lead MA will actively participate in the employee hiring, review and disciplinary process for medical assisting staff. Feedback will be given to the physicians and Practice Leader as needed. The Lead MA will assist the other MAs by acting as a triage coordinator, helping the MAs to better organize their time and learn how to better serve the clinician group. The Lead MA provides backup support for the medical assistant team which includes all functions of a medical assistant The Lead MA is responsible for approving the PTO and timecards for the medical assistant staff, ensuring accurate reporting of time and attendance.
