Job Description Summary: Part-Time Casual, As Needed (PRN) The Surgical Technologist and/or the Certified Surgical Technologist prepares the room and gathers supplies needed for surgical procedures; delivers instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other members of the surgical team intra operatively; may function as second assistant to the surgeon; assists in the proper decontamination of the room, supplies and instruments post operatively. Responsibilities And Duties: 40% Prepares for surgical cases by obtaining and preparing appropriate supplies, equipment and instruments, reviews surgeon's preferences to determine required items. Establishes and maintains a sterile field and presents instruments to the operating team. Delivers appropriate instruments/supplies utilizing proper principles of sterile technique. Acts as 2nd assistant to surgeon, performing duties related to draping and operative site exposure. Responsible for removal of all sharps and initials return card for verification. Can hold extremities. Assist with casting and splinting. Mixes medications on the sterile field once verification by a registered nurse has occurred. Assist with positioning, can fix specimens in formalin (annual competency required), assists circulator in proper care and handling of surgical specimens. Job Details Kettering Health Transporation Services | Kettering | Full Time | Varied Shift Responsibilities & Requirements Job Specific Duties: The critical care RN functions as part of a team to provide direct patient care in mobile intensive care setting, with the assistance of other allied health professionals. They transport patients to a higher-level facility and provide advanced care to the most critical. This nursing role offers many unique opportunities for the ideal candidate, including: 1:1 patient ratio Progressive standing orders and medical scope of practice Utilizes specialized equipment including Ventricular Assist Device, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ECMO, and transport ventilators. Plays an integral part in the regional Surgical Emergency Response Team (SERT), providing advanced surgical, stabilization, and transport capabilities for patients in the pre-hospital setting. This position offers opportunity for a two-week rotating schedule or a set three day per week schedule. Shifts are 12 hours in length and based out of our facility in Dayton, Ohio. Operational Duties: Performs regular assigned shift duties. Maintains cleaning standards of station(s), vehicle(s), and equipment. Completes detailed patient and operational reporting, in a timely manner.
