How you'll contribute A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role: Assists medical staff in carrying out plans for care of patients. Determines nursing care needs of the patient. Develops implements and updates nursing care plans in an outpatient setting. Coordinates and orients new nursing personnel with regards to office set-up, requirements, associated activities and procedures. Coordinates special activities with the hospital i.e. direct admissions from the office or any other unique requirements. Handles patient telephone inquiries. Telephones prescription order to pharmacy, as needed. Enters complete and accurate information into an electronic medical record. Transcribes lab and other medical data into the EMR, as needed. Performs phlebotomy and on-site laboratory tests. Performs laboratory maintenance. Performs special tests, i.e. audiometry, eye tests, pulmonary functions and EKG's Inventory and order medical supplies, as needed. Orients Medical Students and Residents to office protocol and procedures.
