Job Title: Registered Nurse- Endoscopy (PRN) Job Summary: The RN - Registered Nurse is responsible for providing clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive efficient and high-quality care. We are a 3 room Ambulatory Endoscopy Center, providing care for patients having upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. Candidate must have an RI Nursing license, ACLS, BLS, 1-2 years of Medical/Surgical experience Pre-op, PACU, and Endoscopy skills preferred. Good interpersonal and customer service skills are a must. Basic computer skills needed. This position is Per Diem Monday through Friday, flexible hours to cover the needs of the Center. No weekends, no holidays, no on-call. Essential Job Functions: Participates in the development of patient care delivery systems, standards, policy and procedures, and problem-solving teams. Collaborates and works cooperatively with physicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary health care team in formal and informal teaching of patients and/or family about his or her disease process and wellness promotion plan and discharge planning: assesses patient/family learning needs, abilities, preferences, and readiness to learn; utilizes a collaborative interdisciplinary process to provide appropriate patient/family education; utilizes available information to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching in producing the desired patient outcomes and makes adjustments in teaching as indicated. Participates in performance improvement activities which include collecting, analyzing data to identify quantifiable measures to maintain quality and the promotion of desired outcomes. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, ability to provide and delegate appropriate activities to staff based on patient assessment, complexity of the task, level of competence of staff and/or certification/licensure requirements and the requirements to deliver care in a safe efficient manner maximizing positive outcomes for the patient. Qualifications, Knowledge, and Ability: Graduate of a school of nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. CCS is a long-standing and nationally-regarded inpatient service within the Division of General Pediatrics that serves hospitalized children with medical complexity, who have complex chronic conditions and functional limitations. Common reasons for admission to CCS include infections (aspiration pneumonia, pyelonephritis), chronic condition exacerbations (epilepsy, digestive dysmotility), and post-operative recovery following surgery (baclofen pump placement, gastrostomy, spinal fusion, etc.). This role will provide patient evaluation, assessment, and facilitate care for the patients on the CCS service and will implement interventions tailored to improve systems for patient care and enhance patient safety for this population. Job Summary Provides direct patient care based on the knowledge of ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies and procedures, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. Duties & Responsibilities Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients. Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies in such a manner that assures that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe.
