Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Staff Nurse - OBGYN position is to provide patient care (neonate to maturity) based on the identified individualized needs of assigned patients and families within the clinical nursing role. The Staff Nurse will assess, screen, evaluate, educate, and provide care management/outcome management in accordance with professional nursing standards and patient needs. The role of the Staff Nurse also includes practice/office support. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current license to practice in the State of New Jersey/BSN preferred. Current IV/Venous Access Device Certification required. Preferred: Two years’ experience in Maternal – Child; Obstetrical and Gynecological specialties preferred, having worked in an Ambulatory Care Service/outpatient care setting, preferred. ANA certification preferred. Ambulatory Care Certification preferred. Two years’ experience in specialty procedures to include but not limited to: Fetal Monitoring, Non-Stress Testing preferred. Overview About the Role The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) is a skilled health provider who through a written collaborative practice agreement with a physician is credentialed through the Medical Staff Office. As a member of the Medical Staff the APN demonstrates standards of professional practice that includes ethical decision making, job activities related to quality assessment/improvement, self- evaluation, leadership, and research. The APN is self-directed and purposeful in seeking necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competency.In this role, with a specialized focus on prenatal patients, the APN will utilize critical judgment in the performance of comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and the prescribing of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of patients diagnosed with a variety of Medical/Psychiatric conditions/diseases. The APN practice will promote maternal and fetal wellness through patient education, preventative care and participation in research initiatives. Functioning both autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the APN serves as a clinical resource and consultant, supporting coordinated care across the prenatal continuum. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Collects comprehensive patient health data/history including past and present medical, surgical, family and social history. Diagnostic tests and procedures relevant to the patient’s status are collected and interpreted. Completes the medication reconciliation process by documenting the current list of medications (including over the counter and nutritional supplements) taken by patient at each visit. Conducts clinical rounds on F-Green, Labor & Delivery, Outpatient Pediatrics and OB/GYN units. Proactively identifies patients with elevated maternal depression or psychiatric risk factors and ensures comprehensive pre- discharge engagement. Provides medical and psychiatric care to patients on the Inpatient unit, in the ED, on medical floors and/or in the Outpatient Clinics. Provides education to patients and families to maximize their utilization of insurance, resources, and physician recommended care practices to improve overall quality of life. Monitors intended and potential side effects of medications and treatments ordered and will offer appropriate, accepted interventions. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between departments/services; collaborates with Clinical Care Coordinators, Patient Navigators, and medical staff to coordinate continuity of care. The annual anesthesia case volume is approx. 14,300 cases, consisting of ~ 9,000 surgical cases, 800 cardiac cases, and 2,000 out-of-OR cases in GI, EP lab/Cath Lab, and interventional radiology. OB Scrub Technician-Family Health Services

Responsibilities The OB Scrub Technician provides direct care to obstetrical/neonatal patient under the direct supervision of a licensed RN. The OB Scrub Technician performs the role of surgical scrub for obstetrically related surgical procedures. Maintains aseptic environment during set-up for surgery or delivery and throughout surgical procedures. Responsible for maintaining and stocking supplies and equipment throughout the Labor and Delivery Suite, including Recovery and Operating Rooms. Assists with perioperative care as outlined in the policy and procedure manuals. Assist with deliveries, as necessary. Assists with other aspects of unit operations as assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician Program. Certified as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or equivalent required. AHA CPR required. One (1) year of related experience preferred. Must maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance. Must have understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with physicians and fellow workers. Must pay attention to detail. Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. Must be self-motivated and work in an efficient and effective manner. Must work in air-conditioned environment with temperature of 65-73 degrees and humidity of 45-55%. When assigned to pediatric cases, temperature may be up to 85-90 degrees F. Must wear hospital provided scrub attire while on duty. Potential for cuts, bruises, muscle strains and exposure to contagious disease via and body fluids. Potential for exposure to anesthesia waste gases, ethylene oxide, harsh disinfectants, sterilizing agents, high steam pressure agents and radiation.
