Description Job Description PeaceHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant - Internal Medicine for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $25.62 – $34.58. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. Hiring Bonus may be available! In collaboration with the healthcare team, assists physicians/providers in the delivery of patient care working within the scope of practice for a Medical Assistant. Essential Functions Prepares patients for examination and treatment or anesthesia interview as applicable. Takes and records patient history and vital signs as applicable. Prepares exam and/or treatment rooms; selects, setup and maintains medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and/or anesthesia interview as applicable. Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under provider orders. Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization. May transport specimens. May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments. May maintain patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record. May provide phone screening of the patient to appropriate clinical staff and/or physician. Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Accredited Program Required: Medical Assistant or Accredited Program Required: Medical Office Assistant that allows caregiver to sit for the MOA certification exam will be considered (e.g. associate degree in Allied Health) or Apprenticeship Required: Medical Assistant Experience Minimum of 1 year Preferred: experience in a medical office Credentials State of Washington Medical Assistant – certified licensure required. State of Washington Medical Assistant – Interim Certified credential accepted. Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally. Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently. Environmental Conditions Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. Company Allegheny Health Network Job Description GENERAL OVERVIEW Under the direction of the provider and as a member of the health care team, assists in coordinating the examination, treatment and health care planning for patients. Assists with other office functions to support patient care and office operations. Follows all established protocols, policies, procedures and standardized workflows. Essential Responsibilities Using the team based approach, assists in the coordination of patient care under supervision of the health care provider. Prepares and rooms patients within the clinical practice setting according to standardized work flows. Accurately obtains patient vital signs, documents patient information, patient history, tobacco, and medication screening. May assist in the administration of depression screening tools. Completes annual wellness visit screenings. Reviews, updates and screens medication list in the EHR. Reviews social history with patient and updates record. If applicable, pends/''cues up'' orders for required age appropriate screenings, patient prescriptions, refills, or other orders based on AHN approved protocols. Performs back office testing following approved AHN protocols and policies. Assists providers with examination and procedures. May serve as a scribe with additional training. Provides follow up with patients at designated intervals via patient's preferred method (telephone, electronic, written) in accordance with provider instructions. Notifies patients of test results under the direction of provider in a timely manner. Prepares exam room for patient visit. Ensures adequate inventory of medical supplies. Ensures all patient treatment areas are at all times stocked with the appropriate supplies using established inventory standards. Cleans and sterilizes instruments per established AHN approved policy and manufacturer's guidelines. Accurately performs lab controls and equipment checks as assigned. Administers and accurately documents medications in accordance with policy and safe practice. Documents accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) according to established standards and work flows. Accurately performs clerical office functions and other duties as assigned. May require floating/travel between physician office locations. Registered Nurse-Intensive Mobile Team-Full Time Salary: $107,120 plus benefits Intensive Mobile Treatment (IMT) is an innovative, creative, trauma-informed mobile practice model designed to provide treatment, rehabilitation and support services to individuals whose needs have not been met by traditional services. IMT participants interact with homeless services, criminal justice, and behavioral health service systems. IMT teams are hired, trained and funded to maximize flexibility and continuity of care for persons who historically have been poorly served. IMT teams are multi-disciplinary and include psychiatry, nursing, social work, peer specialists and other staff members offering rehabilitation, treatment and recovery support services. The team provides expertise in the areas of housing, substance use and harm reduction, criminal justice, peer support and behavioral health recovery. Based on their area of expertise, team members collaborate to deliver comprehensive, integrated and flexible services that are responsive to a participant's choices, needs and goals. With a small staff to participant ratio, services are brought to the participant and offered in natural settings, 24 hours a day and seven days a week. Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) functions as a primary practitioner who assesses and monitors IMT participants' clinical health and response to treatment. The nursing approach of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation is used to assists individuals in their achievement of mental health, rehabilitation and recovery goals. Clear professional boundaries to support the limits and possibilities of services. Essential Job Functions Develop, implement and maintain IMT program nursing standards. Guide the development of policies and procedures and identification of resources essential to delivery of nursing services. Conduct psychiatric, physical health and other assessments with a special focus on conducting assessments and evaluations with individuals using substances or experiencing street homelessness. Develop, or consult and coordinate with team to develop, plans to address participant health needs. Monitor and modify treatment plans as indicated by participant responses and conditions. Use online databases and portals e.g. PSYCKES, Healthix, MAPP, and others to support assessment and treatment planning. Order, interpret and evaluate medical diagnostic tests to identify and assess participant conditions. Provide management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist. Provide a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques and a trauma informed approach when delivering individual and group based health services. Administer IMs and vaccines, plants and reads PPD's, and performs phlebotomy as per orders Monitor vital signs and side effects of medications and reports findings to team, and within annual health assessments. Collaborate with psychiatrist and other medical personnel to schedule appointments and coordinate care. Make referrals to community physicians and work jointly with hospital and institutional staff. Intervene and advocate on participant's behalf with, for example, collaterals, agencies, facilities and family members; assist with problem solving to help participant access needed supports. Provide consultation to IMT team regarding participant medical issues; serves as a resource to the team on medical concerns. Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records including required documentation, progress notes and health related data, in AWARDS. Evaluate and establish system for reporting on nursing intervention and expected outcomes. Attend and participate in supervision, meetings and training sessions as required. Provide 24-hour crisis intervention services on rotating basis. Job Qualifications Commitment to person-centered treatment strategies, upholding participants' rights, and self-determination in service provision. Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse by the New York State Education Department. Minimum two (2) years' experience working as an RN. Minimum two (2) years' experience working with persons with mental health condition in health or social services setting. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to synthesize and summarize information and make judgments regarding care. Eligible for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs. Computer proficiency in Windows operating systems and programs, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as comfort with learning new electronic systems. Comfort providing treatment in non-traditional settings, including but not limited to the street, community spaces, and shelters.
