DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Intensive Care Unit provides direct care or influences care for acutely/critically ill patients who are at high risk for actual or potential life-threatening health problems. Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required due to the College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements for moderate complexity testing. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements: Current Texas nursing license or compact license. One year full time experience in an acute care setting. RQI BLS and ACLS required BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider course according to RQI program guidelines and all required Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Healthcare Provider courses will be provided during new hire orientation or upon transfer and must be completed prior to working in a clinical setting.
