Emergency Department Admit Nurse RN 7p-7a

Overview The ED Boarder Nurse provides ongoing nursing care to patients who have been admitted to the hospital but remain in the Emergency Department while awaiting inpatient bed placement. Care is delivered in accordance with inpatient standards and includes comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and patient education. What you need to know about this position: Our Medical Surgical Step Down Unit (SDU) is a 13-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4. Patients on this unit could include respiratory failure with BiPAP, sepsis management, severe electrolyte inbalances, post-surgery management of thoracotomies/VATS, wedge resections, vascular procedures and other surgeries. A new Registered Nurse in this unit will have an hourly base rate starting at $33.34. An experienced Registered Nurse can expect an hourly base rate in the top 25% of nurses in the region.
