The ANM is responsible for managing clinical and non-clinical caregivers and providing input to the director/manager for evaluation purposes related to performance. Why the ED Boarder RN Role? This unique position supports admitted patients who remain in the Emergency Department while awaiting an inpatient bed assignment. These patients have been evaluated and admitted by the appropriate inpatient service and require continued acute care nursing management until transfer to their assigned unit. This role does not provide care for active Emergency Department patients. Instead, the Boarder RN focuses exclusively on acute care (non-ICU) level admitted patients boarding in the ED, ensuring continuity of care, safety, and patient experience during this transition period. What Makes This Role Unique? Continuity of Care: Provides inpatient-focused nursing care to admitted patients while awaiting room placement on an acute care unit. Patient Advocacy: Ensures appropriate monitoring, medication administration, documentation, and communication with admitting services, consults, dietary, etc. Reduced ED Throughput Pressure: Does not carry an active ED assignment, allowing focused, high-quality care for boarding patients. L&D RN Position Summary The L&D RN provides nursing care for pregnant mothers beginning around the 16th week of pregnancy all the way through the immediate postpartum period. The L&D RN also provides care to the newborn immediately after delivery as well as care for families that experience a loss of pregnancy. The L&D RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The registered nurse acts as a patient advocate. The L&D RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The registered nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required. L&D RN Position Requirements Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) PALS Electronic Fetal Monitoring, Neonatal Resuscitation, and obtain EFM certification within 2 years. L&D RN Work Schedule May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy. Scheduled off at least three holidays per year. Required to work weekends per unit need. Expected to work overtime on occasion.
