JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ADMISSIONS REGISTERED NURSE 1. Admissions Registered Nurse participates in the information gathering, analysis, education, and form completion aspects of the admissions process 2. Admissions Registered Nurse evaluates patients for hospice appropriateness, e.g. medical records review as requested. 3. Admissions Registered Nurse Obtains agreement for admission of referred patients and families who meet admission criteria. 4. Admissions Registered Nurse analyzes data collected by the admission staff or ANCHOR HEALTH clinicians to facilitate/obtain admission orders 5. Admissions Registered Nurse builds effective referral source relationships to support the high quality and responsiveness expectations associated with ANCHOR HEALTH. 6. Admissions Registered Nurse maintains clinical and professional competence. 7. Admissions Registered Nurse takes the initiative in developing effective relationships internally with the appropriate admissions and patient care resource persons. 8. Admissions Registered Nurse utilizes interpersonal skills to help appropriately educate and address any questions the patient and/or patients’ family has concerning hospice and palliative care. 9. Admissions Registered Nurse has the knowledge of clinical manifestations of diseases and ability to develop ANCHOR HEALTH specific clinical knowledge. 4. Admissions Registered Nurse has the ability to use the ANCHOR HEALTH information system and mobile technology platforms. 5. Admissions Registered Nurse has reliable means of transportation. Graduate of a National League of Nursing accredited school of nursing. 2. Current licensure in State of CA and CPR certification. 3. Registered nurses shall have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a professional nurse within the last three (3) years; OR have a baccalaureate degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National League of Nursing and a current RN license. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience, at least one of which is in the area of public health, home care, or hospice nursing is preferred. 4. Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist. Admissions Registered Nurse is expected to have strong presentation skills. 5. Prolonged or considerable walking or standing. Able to lift, position and/or transfer patients. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through successful completion of the designated organizational entry competency validation and a Perioperative Department-specific competency validation. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements. Experience Perioperative RN Residency, or recently practicing in an OR/Perioperative Setting preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Current ACLS certification required Current PALS or ENPC certification required In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame. Any Candidate/Associate with at least one year of acute care clinical experience in a similar service line within the past three years is considered an Experienced Associate.
