The infusion nurse provides direct care and possesses the knowledge and ability to safely administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive care measures; and is able to manage the patient's care in relation to these treatments. Administers blood products, medications, antineoplastic agents, analgesics, and supportive care to hematology/oncology patients, as well as to patients with non-cancer diagnoses and is able to manage care in relation to these treatments. Description STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Coordinates total nursing care for patients of all ages utilizing the nursing process; directs patient and family teaching; provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Part-time, benefited position working 48 hours per pay period. Days of work are Sunday-Saturday. Scheduled shifts are day/night rotation with occasional evening shifts.
