Internal Travel Registered Nurse (RN) - Cancer Services

Position Summary Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice. Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family. Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act. Minimum Requirements Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher Bachelor Degree is preferred Greater than 1 year of nursing experience is required American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification is required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required: (i.e. supervision, computers, etc.) Flexibility in scheduling to meet the twenty four (24) hour needs of the patients Possess organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications Other Information Travel team members are expected to: Float to other areas as needed Work shifts that are based on each individual unit's needs (may include 11 a.m.-11 p.m., 7 a.m.-7 p.m., 3 p.m.-3 a.m., 7 p.m.-7 a.m. and/or other shifts as determined by organizational needs) Adhere to required attendance of unit staff meetings, completion of e-inform modules, and completion of required organizational continuing education Use the scheduling system to manage their schedule, including non-duty/time-off requests Have ACLS as appropriate (required for intensive or progressive care) Not be currently employed by ECU Health or be separated for 92 days, having left in good standing Organizational policies will be applicable to internal travel team members, notwithstanding Internal Staffing Program specifications included within each assignment acknowledgement ECU Health We are hiring experienced nurses for medical and surgical oncology internal travel assignments at the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville, NC. Internal Travel Program Details 13-week assignments with option to extend at the discretion of the manager Base pay: up to $63 per hour for all travel nursing positions Additional Compensation: 1.5x base hourly rate for overtime (over 40 hours per week) and holiday pay, $3.00/hour for stand-by pay, and $2.00/hour for charge/preceptor pay Internal travel staff are eligible for ECU Health's Partnership Savings Plan-401(k) (non-matched). Job Type: Full-Time Travel Region(s): Texas, New Mexico and Missouri. Your Job Summary Responsible for the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and total needs of the residents. Responsible for 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and The Company standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Administrator, assumes the responsibility for center operations. The position conducts the nursing process – assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation – under the scope of the State’s Nurse Practice Act of Registered Nurse licensure. Principal Responsibilities Assumes ultimate responsibility for coordinating plans for the total care of each resident which comply with physician’s orders, governmental regulations and facility resident care policies. Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation. Participates in all admissions decisions, and may visit prospective residents before admissions. Participates in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or assigned at any time with or without notice. Qualifications Currently licensed as RN in the state practiced. Associate or Bachelor Degree from an accredited nursing school required. Five years in long-term or acute health care preferred; At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
