Use Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment. Assist with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participates in emergency preparedness drills. Follow all equipment and safety guidelines and is responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment. Serve as a resource to other members of the health care team. Attend in-services, conferences, and meetings as required. Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staffs, patients, and employees. Maintain patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy. Maintain designated certifications such as CPR, as offered by the hospital. Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center. Comply with Policies and Procedures, and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment. Support new hires and existing staff through precepting and/or orienting new hires and existing staff. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience Certification as required by state and/or center 3 years previous experience required previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians Pay Range: $33.00 - 40.00/hour (Wages are determined based upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications and years of experience).
