Responsibilities Wellstone Regional Hospital is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, and the CD population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well. Wellstone is currently searching for an Assistant Chief Nursing Officer. The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) collaborates with and provides a second level of leadership for the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). The ACNO shares delegated responsibility and accountability with the Chief Nursing Officer. The position works alongside the Chief Nursing Officer with managing staffing and nursing resources of nursing units, and for evaluating and improving the performance and outcomes of nursing. The ACNO assists in providing leadership to nurse employees, create goals, and actively participates in decisions that impact the hospital. The ACNO will work closely with Staff Development to develop education for the nursing staff. The ACNO will oversee the house supervisors and PRN staff and will help develop guidelines for the PRN staff. Job Duties: -Provides leadership and direction to all nursing staff. -Works closely with staffing coordinator to ensure adequate staffing 24/7. -Works with Managers and Supervisors to ensure there is appropriate staffing -Will work closely with Staff Development to develop orientation for new Nursing Staff. -Plans and coordinates with Nurse Managers and Infection Control mandatory trainings as evident of the ongoing changes in health care. -Assists Chief Nursing Officer with hiring, education, training, and onboarding of nursing staff. -Ensures that all staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice -Will complete performance improvement audits monthly -Work closely with Staff Coordinator to make sure employees are meeting CPR, CPI and Healthstream compliance. -Provide direction to staff on correct policies and procedures. -Complies with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations and risk management, -Ensure maintenance of JCAHO, HIPPA, CMS, and state regulatory requirements and standards -Will assist the CNO with shared governance.
