In this role, you will provide services across the continuum of care (independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing). This is a unique opportunity to build and manage an outpatient Primary Care Practice on campus, as well as provide care for our assisted living and skilled nursing residents. You will plan and direct all functions of the resident care clinical area, including but not limited to, management of team members and the day-to-day operations of the practice, managing resident healthcare needs in compliance with federal and state regulations, maintaining knowledge of the long-term care industry and geriatrics through continuing education, and serving as clinical preceptor for Nurse Practitioner students. Responsibilities for Unit Manager: Assume full responsibility and accountability for resident care on the assigned nursing unit. Oversee and coordinate resident care to promote the highest possible level of physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning. Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting, with appropriate follow-up and communication to the Administrator and the Director of Nursing. Participate in facility committees and programs as directed by the Director of Nursing. Qualifications for Unit Manager: Must possess a current, unencumbered active license to practice as an RN in the state of New Jersey . Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required. A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a nursing care center, hospital, or other healthcare setting required.
