The patient population includes those with heart failure, MICU stepdown or post-MICU and CCU patients, post-ventilator patients, those experiencing CHF exacerbations, altered mental status, and dyspnea/shortness of breath. The unit manages a patient population very similar to the MICU but at a lower acuity level and sees a good mix of older and younger adult patients.
