Job Details The Neurology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive clinical support to faculty within the Jefferson Cognitive Neurology Division, focusing on the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of outpatient populations with cognitive neurological disorders. This role works collaboratively with attending physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, while practicing within the legal scope of licensure. The NP plays a key role in the care of patients with dementia, including both neurological and behavioral aspects, as well as ongoing care management and coordination with caregivers and support services. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, monitoring disease progression, and providing education to patients and families. This position also supports emerging treatments and management strategies for patients with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), including assisting with the evaluation of eligibility for new therapies and monitoring treatment response. In addition, the NP provides consultation services for neurology patients presenting with psychiatric or behavioral syndromes, functioning as part of a specialized “memory clinic” model of care.
