Responsible for providing emergency psychiatric services, physician and psycho-social examinations of their patients. Developing appropriate treatment plan and providing effective management of patient care with proper evaluation. Consulting with patients and families having multiple and complex disorders; and working in a collaborative and integrative roles with primary healthcare providers. Performing invasive procedures. Graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program. Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification. Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio. Eligibility for clinical privileges within the applicable specialty/department of The MetroHealth System and completion of the credentialing process upon hire. Maintenance of a Standard Care Arrangement in accordance with Ohio Board of Nursing requirements. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association. Completion of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or an approved equivalent, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within six (6) months of hire. A minimum of five (5) years of recent, active nursing experience in a critical care environment, including experience in an Emergency Department and/or Intensive Care Unit. CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) or CFRN (Certified Flight Registered Nurse) certification within two (2) years of hire. Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with: Previous Nurse Practitioner experience in a critical care setting. Current Ohio EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, or Paramedic certification. Experience in prehospital medicine, air medical transport, and/or critical care transport. Experience utilizing high-fidelity human patient simulation for education and training. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move intermittently throughout the workday. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods as required. Visual acuity within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses.
