Job Description Summary Performs tasks and procedures consistent with Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant's (PA) specialized knowledge, judgment, skill, training and education within the scope of his/her supervising physician. Assists with or performs surgical procedures at the direction of the supervising physician; performs hospital rounds and documents patient progress notes as appropriate. Makes appropriate specialty referrals for patient treatment outside of scope of practice. Administers, dispenses, prescribes drugs and medications and/or medical supplies or therapies consistent with both supervising physician and own skill, training, education and competence and within the scope of practice of both.
