Overview The UF Health Cardiac Critical Care Service Line includes a 17-bed Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and a 24-bed Coronary Care Unit (CCU) , united under one leadership team to provide seamless, high-quality care for adult cardiac medicine and cardiac surgery patients from admission through discharge. The CVICU delivers high-acuity critical care, including advanced life-support therapies such as invasive hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical circulatory support (Impella & Intra Aortic Balloon Pump), CRRT, temporary pacing, advanced airway management, and ECMO, while the CCU manages intermediate-level patients from the same population. Job Summary: The Transfer Center Nurse Specialist will function out of the Throughput Operations Center providing critical and timely assessments and successfully guiding referring facilities to the appropriate physician. In an effort to provide complete customer satisfaction, the nurse should accurately listen and respond appropriately to requests made by transferring physicians, hospitals and peers. The Transfer Center Nurse Specialist should give high priority to customer service and complete customer satisfaction. The nurse must be able to adjust through a rapidly changing environment. The nurse will manage multiple phones lines and responsibilities including transfer center logistics for patients being transferred into both hospitals. This role will play a significant part in ensuring adequate acceptance of patients into our health system, and compliance with EMTALA regulations. Minimum Qualifications: NYS licensed/registered RN (or eligible), Bachelors degree in Nursing with one year hospital-based experience or Associates degree in Nursing with three years of hospital-based experience required.
