Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The Clinic RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members in an outpatient clinic setting. Clinic RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge, skills and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs. Scope of performance includes prioritization and triage of care delivery, implementing established standing orders and protocols, performing procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure. Additional Details: This position will be working primarily with the pulmonary team. Scope 1.Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures. 2. Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality. 3. Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors and assesses disease condition. 4. Provides patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations. 5. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitor and document treatment progress and patient response. Refer to/consult with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns. 6. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions. 7. Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices. 8. Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes. 9. Tracks quality assurance data and monitor for acute and chronic care management. Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance. Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. What qualifications you will need: Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date (RN) Registered Nurse Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
