Certifications per unit-based requirement. Endoscopy experience preferred for Endo Essential Physical Requirements: Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. He/she consistently applies and utilizes the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients. The RN collaborates with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes in alignment with the Hospital mission and Methodist Excellence goals. Demonstrates team work and adaptability and is a resource person to the patient care team. He/she is accountable for the quality of nursing care services delivered by self or others under their direction in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies and procedures and the Texas Board of Nursing rules for delegated nursing tasks (Chapter 224). Responsibilities Our Registered Nurses (RN) are responsible for the delivery and supervision of patient care through the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct patient care to infants, children, and adolescents primarily in their home according to the active plan of care, as given by the physician and other appropriate personnel. Must have transportation to office and patients' homes. Other Qualifications and Skills Reliable transportation. One (1) Year Home Health Experience, preferred. One (1) Year Pediatric Experience, preferred. Physical Demands/Working Environment Position regularly requires bending, reaching, standing, stooping, sitting, twisting, talking, and hearing. Push and pull 50 pounds (position patient, move equipment, etc.). Support 50 pounds of weight (ambulate patient). Lift 50 pounds (pick up a child, transfer a patient, etc.) as well as assist with weights of more than 100 pounds. Carry equipment and supplies. Overview Carries out patient care responsibilities with emphasis on decision-making related to the steps in the nursing process to include assessment, diagnosis, and identification of expected outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation. As a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, formulates the initial plan of care with the provider (physician or nurse practitioner) and collaborates with them to implement a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care to achieve expected outcomes; utilizes principles of assignment and delegation consistent with the NY State Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities Provides professional nursing care to patients within unit. Diagnose and treat response to actual or potential health problems by means of nursing techniques and methods such as case finding, health teaching, health counseling and the provision of care supportive to and restorative of health and well-being. Maintain safe levels of care while adhering to a medical regimen. Collaborates with the physician and other health care providers to assure that a goal oriented care plan is consistent with medical regimen and hospital procedures. Performs other related duties as instructed. Qualifications BSN with three (3) years’ experience preferred. Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse. BLS Required.
