Our patient population consists of adult and geriatric patients with varied medical diagnoses including complications from diabetes, pneumonia, cellulitis , encephalopathy, and remote telemetry . We also care for renal and urology surgery patients including those who have had a nephrectomy, prostatectomy, transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and those with continuous bladder irrigation (CBI). Any patients admitted to the hospital who require peritoneal dialysis (PD) treatments , have PD care managed by a trained 14AB nurse. Complete assigned care and documentation within required timeframes. Administer medications/treatments safely and perform technical skills per policy. Evaluate patient responses and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team. Supervise and delegate tasks appropriately to other team members. Serve as a clinical resource and support training/education of staff and students. Maintain current clinical knowledge and adhere to organizational and departmental standards. Function in relief charge/resource roles as requested.
