The purpose for the APP position is to support functions in the neurology program as a clinician, educator, team member, and advocate for our patient population. The APP will see outpatient follow up neurology visits in order to create treatment plans, communicate with patient/family members regarding their care, coordinate with schools (for seizure action plans, IEPs, medication forms and other medical forms), and take first line call for neurology after hours 10 days per month (Monday – Thursday). Summary The Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Division in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider to provide high-quality critical care services under the direction of a physician at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. Job Description​ The Opportunity : We are hiring an APP in our NSICU at the Plaza. We are looking for an APP that is hardworking and has a passion for critical care. This is a full-time night shift position. This position works closely in a collaborative relationship with the Neuro Critical Care physicians. A positive attitude and working well with all members of the multi-disciplinary team is crucial. ICU background is preferred, new grads will be considered. The level of autonomy increases with experience. The physicians expect to be highly engaged in patient care. The expectation is the APP will work towards being independently credentialed to place radial arterial lines. The APPs work closely with the Neurologists, Neurosurgeons and NSICU intensivist team, nursing staff and pharmacy. The Schedule: The schedule is 3 night shifts per week.
