Position Overview: The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team. This role involves setting care standards, applying independent judgment, and establishing strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The nurse will manage patient care for a group of patients, demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and accountability within the unit. Unit Overview: 7 South is a 46-bed acute medical-oncology unit providing care for adults, including geriatric patients, with a range of medical illnesses. The unit specializes in oncology care, administering chemotherapy and supporting patients receiving treatments like blood transfusions, IV hydration, heparin drips, wound care, and more. With 12 step-down beds, the unit also cares for patients needing higher levels of care. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses to learn diverse skills in a supportive team environment. Responsibilities: Apply the nursing process to create a healing environment and develop individualized care plans in partnership with patients. Use critical thinking to address clinical, social, and psychological needs and communicate effectively with the care team to optimize patient care.
