Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a RN- General Surgery Wound Care - Full Time to join the Team! The Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (WOC Nurse) will be assigned to perform and assist with assessments, interventions, and evaluations for patients with actual or potential wound, ostomy, and/or continence problems. The WOC nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care, education, and clinical consultation in the outpatient and inpatient settings. The WOC nurse will collaborate/coordinate care with overseeing providers, nurses, and other health care team members to assess patient needs and to establish and execute an appropriate plan of care to meeting the rehabilitation needs of the patient. The WOC nurse will communicate with providers, coworkers, other staff and patients/families as appropriate about changes in the patient’s clinical condition and is able to respond appropriately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Responsibilities include the systematic collection and assessment of data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic care for the patient and/or family. The WOC nurse is expected to competently perform the patient care responsibilities under direct and indirect supervision of providers orders. The WOC nurse also performs other related tasks for documentation and supply management. The WOC nurse will provide relevant training and education to staff as needed. The WOC will actively seek and assist with other clinical tasks within the General Surgery Clinic.
