Responds to emergency situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol. Assists in completion of the care plans *(*acute and long term) and is involved in the care conference as deemed necessary. Participates, reports to DON I Administrator and conducts (as appropriate) investigations related to any alleged abuse. Ensures that the progress notes are reflective of the care plan and that the approaches on the care plan are being followed. Assures that team is aware of the resident care plan, and ensure personnel refer to the care plan prior to administering care. Monitors that documentation is completed daily. Takes report from nursing staff to facilitate accurate documentation in resident medical record. Responsible for all other RN duties as required. Perform additional duties as assigned. EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS: Current State Registered Nurse license with a minimum of 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Administer medications via all routes, using the 6 rights, medication bar scanner and monitoring patient for side effects. Ability to collect blood specimens and blood cultures. Ability to care for patients with a variety of invasive lines, including but not limited to: IV lines, central lines, ports and pleural catheters. Maintenance and care of patients with ostomy/ileostomy and urostomy. Ability to provide basic wound assessment and care including wet to dry dressing, staple and suture removal, surgical tape and wound drain removal. Implement and provide care of the patient receiving Therapeutic phlebotomy. Ability to conduct risk assessment, prevention and treatment of pressure injury. Able to manage the Inpatient admission process including completion of the KBC, medication reconciliation, and assessment/documentation flowsheets. Must be able to work 3 12 hour night shifts Qualifications Your qualifications should include: 1 year experience in acute care and/or urgent care Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact State Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification- an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire. If their current certification does not meet the guidelines, stakeholders will have (30) days from the date of hire to acquire attend an onsite initial BLS course and will be required to renew every two years. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification-Stakeholders will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and will need to be renewed every two years.
