Department : Intensive Care Unit Daily Work Times: 7:00pm - 7:30am Shift: Nights Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours : 72 Position Summary: Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintained standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Unit Based Competencies - Intensive Care Unit Maintains ACLS ACLS Certification. Effectively manages the critical care of the patient with hemodynamic monitoring. Accurately and effectively administers high risk medications. Effectively monitors and manages the care of the patient with hemodynamic instability. Effectively monitors and manages the care of the patient with respiratory instability including mechanical ventilation. Actively participates in unit quality measures. Incorporates EBP in patient care. Ability to promote compassion and a therapeutic environment. Effectively manages a patient during phase I recovery. Required: Education - Graduate of an approved registered nursing program. Must have a current Michigan Registered Nurse license. BLS Certification required. Must become ALS certified within three (3) months of date of hire/accepting position. Six months experience in an Intensive or Coronary Care Unit within the last two years preferred and/or meet internal posting criteria.
