Your Role on the Team Position Summary Incumbent provides patient care to an assigned group of patients in Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary teams in creation and implementation of the plan of care. Performs professional nursing duties that incorporate the psychomotor and age appropriate cognitive skills of the patient/family/significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation. Evaluates patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge. Participates in unit related projects as needed. Serves as a role model, mentor and resource to other clinical staff in the area and may function as a Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) as requested by the supervisor/manager. Summary The medical oncology unit will consist of patients with a cancer diagnosis, medical step-down patients, and general medical overflow. This position has basic knowledge of pathophysiology of cancer and is able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients on this unit.
