Position Summary As a Pediatric Hospital Medicine APP Hospitalist, you will play a crucial role in managing the care of hospitalized patients from admission to discharge. You will work independently and in collaboration with physician hospitalists to provide comprehensive assessments and create medical plans of care. You will gain diverse clinical experiences from covering patients in Acute Care units, the Infant Care Center, and serving as the primary team for a wide array of specialty patients such as endocrinology, eating disorders, gastroenterology, pulmonology, nephrology, infectious disease, cardiology, general surgery, urology, ENT, and psychiatry. Your responsibilities will include: Collect and synthesize data from historical information, diagnostic tests, therapeutic interventions, and physical examinations. Determine diagnoses and appropriate interventions consistent with your scope of practice, experience, board certification, and organizational professional staff policy. Collaborate closely with hospital sub-specialists, surgical staff, nursing staff, and social workers to create comprehensive treatment plans for patients and their families during their hospital stay. APRN: Graduate of an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program. Master’s Degree required; Doctorate preferred. Current MN RN/APRN License. The Provider must be committed to providing high-quality patient care while specializing in medical dermatology with a focus on the medical (80%) and cosmetic (20%) aspects of the field. What You Will Do: Conduct comprehensive skin evaluations to assess the overall health and condition of a patient's skin. Perform focused examinations to diagnose and monitor specific skin conditions. Diagnose and manage common dermatological conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, fungal infections, and dermatitis. Perform skin biopsies to obtain tissue samples for pathological examination. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including skin biopsies, patch tests, and cultures. Prescribe medications such as topical creams, biologics, oral antibiotics, antifungals, or immunosuppressants. Administer immunizations for conditions like warts or molluscum contagiosum. Excise benign skin lesions, moles, and cysts using local anesthesia when necessary. Suture or close wounds after excisions. Administer cryotherapy using techniques like liquid nitrogen application. Drain abscesses and perform incision and drainage procedures. Insert or remove sutures and staples. Manage wound care and provide dressing changes for chronic wounds, ulcers, or surgical sites. Evaluate and diagnose skin cancer. Collaborate with dermatologists to plan and implement treatment, which may include surgery, radiation therapy, or referrals to oncology specialists. Educate patients on proper skincare routines, sun protection, and lifestyle modifications. Counsel patients on the importance of early detection and prevention of skin cancer. Provide guidance on self-examination for suspicious moles or lesions. Prescribe and manage medications. Monitor patients for medication side effects and treatment response. Administer phototherapy treatments, using narrowband UVB or PUVA therapy as appropriate. Manage chronic dermatological conditions, including hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo, or lichen planus. Collaborate with other healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care. Overview Ensures coordination and continuity of patient care for heart transplant and heart failure patients in order to maintain organized and efficient care and provide support to staff and other health care professionals. Responsible for identifying the patient's alterations in health; assessing the patient's response to treatment protocols; communicating appropriate data to physician staff; implementing nursing interventions based upon established treatment protocols; and anticipating potential outcomes for patients at risk for complications. Must demonstrate ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and organ(s) transplanted and provide care according to protocols and within practice of nursing.
