Job Details Primary Job Responsibilities Serve as first and second assistant in the operating room across assigned locations, supporting a wide range of surgical procedures. Provide comprehensive patient management in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Hillcrest and Mentor, ensuring safe recovery and timely intervention when needed. Conduct postoperative rounds at Mentor, assessing patient progress, addressing complications, and coordinating ongoing care. Deliver care to a diverse patient population, including adult and pediatric, inpatient and outpatient cases. Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia teams, nursing staff, and ancillary services to ensure continuity and high-quality care throughout the perioperative continuum. Participate in a rotating schedule between Hillcrest and Mentor Hospitals every four weeks, with potential cross-coverage at Euclid, South Pointe, Marymount, and affiliated ambulatory surgery centers. Fulfill weekend and on-call responsibilities (approximately one weekday call per week and one weekend every two months). Schedule Overview Hillcrest: Four 10-hour shifts (Tuesday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM; Friday: 1:00 PM–11:30 PM) Mentor: Two 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), one 12-hour shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM), and one 8-hour shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a versatile and proactive Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with experience first-assisting in the operating room and/or managing patients in the PACU and independently rounding on postoperative patients. This individual demonstrates strong clinical judgment, effective time management, and excellent communication skills, ensuring seamless, high-quality care delivery across all perioperative settings. This position is open to New Graduates with clinical experience in this field. Nurse Practitioner candidates must hold current certification as an NP (Nurse Practitioner) – Acute Care or NP (Nurse Practitioner) – Family . Responsibilities: Conducts thorough medical histories, performs complete physical examinations (where indicated), initiates appropriate lab, radiology tests or other special tests required for evaluation of illness, and scrutinizes lab data to establish a record of the patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan. Works in collaboration with the health care team. Performs and interprets common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes as credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.
