Ensure that the activities of the Provider are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall department expectations and are in compliance with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and requirements including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, autonomous environment within both in-patient clinic and virtual settings. Ability to pursue queue of telehealth patients in a timely fashion to ensure proper patient follow up. Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests, as well as responsibly prescribe medications and educate patients on continued treatment and care of acute and chronic conditions. Description Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Canning Thoracic Institute as part of our rapidly growing Lung Transplant Team. CTI operated collaboratively across the Northwestern Medicine health system to advance our mission to deliver the highest quality care for patients with diseases of the chest, promote clinical innovation and discovery, and improve lung health in the Greater Chicago Community. In this role you will work closely with our transplant pulmonologists and thoracic surgeons to support our growing inpatient Lung Transplant ICU Team. The APP will provide primary management to patients in the ICU as well as consultative coverage for transplant patients in the MICU or CTICU. Some role responsibilities include complex ventilator management, central line and arterial line placement, and management of medically complex patients. This role will be 100% inpatient.
