About This Role: Rowan's Piercing Studio Nurse, reporting to the Studio Manager, is dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and joyful ear-piercing experience. As a Rowan Nurse you will leverage your highly respected nursing skills and expertise to perform piercings with the utmost care and precision. Your role is all about building trust and excitement, turning each piercing into a fun and memorable milestone! What you’ll do: \n Customer Service: Create magical and memorable customer experiences by combining top-notch clinical care with a celebratory atmosphere during each piercing session. Ensure customer's safety and comfort and smooth flow of customer care. Provide confident, clear, and professional communication with clients throughout their entire piercing experience. Create a comforting atmosphere for customers, easing their concerns to ensure a relaxed and confident piercing experience. Educate customers on aftercare, promoting Rowan's After Care to support healing and ensure their well-being. Conduct a thorough ear evaluation to find the perfect earring placement and offer personalized styling advice. Actively monitor the customer experience, quickly addressing and resolving any issues to maintain Rowan's clinical piercing standards. Maintain a sterile and aseptic environment at the nurse station and on the procedure tray, ensuring all surfaces, instruments, and supplies are clean and properly sanitized to prevent contamination and promote customer safety. Use your expert knowledge of skin care and infection control and prevention to provide professional and personalized piercing services. Studio Support: Collaborate with the Studio Manager to keep operations running smoothly and foster a joyful, celebratory atmosphere. Flexibility to fill shifts as needed. May mentor and train new nurses to uphold Rowan's Clinical Piercing Standards, including shadowing piercing services and observing customer interactions. Stay attentive to anything that could impact the customer experience, and quickly report any issues to management while collaborating to resolve them. Inventory and Supplies: Ensure all piercing stations, including the nurse cart, mayo stand, and nurse nook, are always stocked with the necessary supplies and ready for any customer needs. Ensure the safety and cleanliness of our services by sterilizing jewelry and needle piercing instruments. Studio Operations: Follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines closely to ensure a sanitary and safe piercing experience. Sales: Ensure high-quality performance to support key studio metrics, including revenue growth, efficiency in piercing services (e.g., piercings per hour), increasing average order value, and boosting sales. Educate customers on Rowan After Care, and the benefits of bringing home an extra pair of hypoallergenic, non-piercing jewelry to promote healing. Reporting and Communication: Quickly address and escalate operational concerns, ensuring clear communication with management and team members to implement solutions efficiently. What you bring to the table: Required Certifications: Active RN or LPN/LVN License. RN Shift Coordinator - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Children's National Hospital is growing! This permanent Charge Nurse role is perfect for the experienced PICU nurse seeking advancement into leadership! Full-Time | Rotating Shifts The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) previously awarded the Children's National Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence. The three-year award marked an important milestone on the path to exceptional patient care and achieving a healthy work environment. The silver-level designation signifies continuous learning and effective systems to achieve optimal patient care and shows alignment practices with AACN's six Healthy Work Environment Standards. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 46-bed unit. We will be expanding to 60 beds in 2027! This unit serves as a regional referral center and is a designated Level I Trauma Center for comprehensive care to pediatric patients and their families. The PICU Patient Care Management Team coordinates interdisciplinary patient assessment and patient care and provided by pediatric intensivists and specialty nurses in conjunction with multiple specialty services within the Medical Center. Patients are admitted to the PICU from the ED, Trauma Services, the Operating Room, and transfers from in-house units as well as transports from other institutions via the Pediatric Transport team. Trauma patients comprise about 10%-15% of patients in the PICU. These patients often have multiple injuries or severe head trauma. The PICU is also a Pediatric Burn Center and receives referrals from the region. Other complex patients requiring general surgery, ENT, craniofacial, neurosurgical and other surgical subspecialties are also cared for in the PICU. Medical patients comprise 50%-60% of patients and include children with respiratory failure, meningitis or seizures, sepsis, multi-system organ failure and chronically ill children. Children with cancer also require PICU care for complications that develop as part of the underlying disease, chemotherapy or following bone marrow transplantation. Services are provided daily, 24 hours per day. The Division of Critical Care Medicine (CCM) provides services and care to all patients admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Specifically, care is provided for all patients in the PICU, patients within the hospital by request, patients within the hospital as part of all emergencies and resuscitations, and patients in the ED for “medical alerts” and “trauma stats”. The scope of services includes resuscitation, life support, monitoring and treatment for life threatening events and diagnostic issues related to these items. Patients may be admitted to and discharged from the PICU based on pre-established guidelines. See section on critical care units. The department utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to care, utilizing the services of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, social services and other support services necessary to provide quality care. Attending physicians providing care are board eligible or certified in Pediatric Critical Care. The PICU provides CAT (Rapid Response Services) and Code Blue team leadership to support in house clinical emergencies. An attending or fellow along with an ICU nurse and Respiratory Therapist respond to assist in clinical rescues of in-house patients. This service can also be activated by a concerned parent. All nursing practice is based on the legal scope of practice, national and specialty nursing standards, CNMC Policies and Procedures, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. CNMC supports the development of RN relationships within the community; specifically those relationships associated with the health and well being of the community at large. Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are performed appropriately to age and developmental level of patients being served. Qualifications Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups. Required Education: Associate's Degree Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered. Preferred Education: BSN Necessary Skills: 1. Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team. 2. Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery. Required Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida or confirmation letter establishing eligibility for issuance upon receipt of SSN. BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross on the first day of employment is required for all areas. ACLS from the American Heart Association is required at hire or transfer for the following departments: Cardiac Holding Area (730501), CVICU (730400), MICU (700400), PICU (660401), North Pre Op/PACU (633680) and Trauma Center (713100). ACLS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for the following departments: 3 ICU-North (620480), 5N CCU (730301), Cardiac Rehab (733100), Non Invasive Cardiology North (733080), and Noninvasive Cardiac Lab (733000). ACLS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for Progressive Registered Nurses in Intensive Care Units. PALS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for the following departments: PICU (660401) and Trauma Center (713100). Fellowship RN's must obtain their ACLS, PALS and NRP within six (6) months of hire or transfer if required by the department. Crisis Prevention Institute training within ninety (90) days, and then annually, is required for Psych Unit. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Professional certification preferred. Required Experience: Less than one year of related experience. Preferred Experience: One (1) year of clinical experience.
