We have ten specialized surgery teams: including orthopedic inpatient; orthopedic outpatient; cardiovascular; urology; OB/GYN; ear, nose and throat; ophthalmology; general and robotic; pediatrics; and neurosurgery and plastic surgery. The skills of these ten specialized surgery teams provide quality care to patients, while giving team members the opportunity to develop and utilize their abilities. Nurses in the OR start as a circulator nurse, which includes: maintain a sterile field/environment, verify surgical consent, verify correct supplies, & instruments, assist the CRNA & Anesthesiologist in induction and emergence, position the patient safely, and understand the different surgical procedures & their steps to be able to anticipate the necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment.
