The Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) encompasses 46 private rooms, which include a procedure room and dental room. The PACU provides preoperative and postoperative care to all types of surgical patients and to those patients receiving general anesthesia in other departments in CHOP and at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. These services are provided 24/7 through in-house coverage or an on-call system.
