Job Summary Responsible for supervision of nursing staff on the assigned shift, the nursing care provided and related administrative and professional nursing activities. Coordinate the admission process as needed. 11-7 Shift: Responsible for conducting all aspects of admission process including insurance pre-certification, etc. Direct responsibility for discharge summary process. Administrative Responsible for supervision of nursing staff on the assigned shift. Makes rounds to all nursing units twice per shift. Obtains shift report from nursing units and relays pertinent information to the next shift. Completes staff performance evaluations. Responsible for staffing schedules and daily unit staffing. Interacts with managed care and all insurance entities as necessary. Enters admissions, discharges, transfers and service changes in the Hospital Information System.
