OR RN Position Summary TidalHealth Peninsula Regional has six specialty teams including General Surgery, GYN/Urology/ Plastics, Orthopedics/Podiatry, Neurosurgery, Eyes/ENT and Cardiothoracic. The night shift is also a team but their focus is on trauma and urgent/emergent procedures in all specialties. The OR RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The OR RN acts as a patient advocate. The OR RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The OR Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required. OR RN Position Requirements Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Complete AORN’s Periop 101 class upon hire OR RN Work Schedule May be assigned to day, evening, or night shifts or a combination per departmental policy.
