Med Surg RN Position Summary The Med Surg RN provides general nursing care to a diverse population of patients affected by cardiopulmonary, neurological, and surgical conditions. Examples of patients include dysrhythmias, COPD, CHF, HHNK, CVA/TIA, acute infectious disease, post-op surgical recovery and complex wound care. The Med Surg RN is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. The Med Surg RN acts as a patient advocate. The RN provides support, information and direct care and utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. The Registered Nurse educates patients and families on significant self-care issues. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.
