Description MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland, ME, is recruiting for a Physician Associate/Physician Assistant (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join our Critical Care team. This is a Per Diem position. The PA or ACNP will perform daily rounds on patients with a team of fellows, residents and students, as well as develop and implement care plans, order and interpret diagnostic studies, procedures, admissions, discharges and family meetings. This is a dynamic setting that is growing and evolving. The PA or ACNP will participate in research and quality initiatives for Medical Critical Care, Neuro Critical Care and/or Surgical Critical Care patients. The program has multiple opportunities for learners including critical care grand rounds, teaching rounds, journal club, case conference and morbidity and mortality.Desire to be a lifelong learner, teacher and part of an interdisciplinary care team are required. Strong cardiovascular assessment skills, Device Management (ICD/CRT), Ability to manage complex chronic disease such as Cardiomyopathy, Hypertension post MI heart failure management, and volume overload management. IF ASSIGNED TO ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY CLINIC Diagnose and manage arrhythmias such as Atrial Fibrillation, Ventricular Tachycardia, and Bradycardia. This individual would be dedicated to the after-hours walk-in orthopedic clinic with opportunity to also support discharges for same day total joints and other miscellaneous clinical day tasks.
