Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice for a professional nurse. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e. physical, psychological, educational and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological / developmental age of the patient). Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately. Completes at least one clinical research utilization (CRU) form for submission to Nursing Research Department utilizing a research article from the last 5 years from research performed in the United States. Compliance Completes a minimum of 5 nationally approved contact hours (CNE or CEU) per year. Completes mandatory in-services and health screens in timely manner. Makes the initial evaluation and re-evaluates the patient’s nursing needs during each visit. Communicates significant findings, problems, and changes in health conditions, environment, or unsafe facility conditions to the clinical supervisor, the physician and/or other personnel involved with patient care. Counsels, instructs, and implements the plan for patient safety, utilizing patient information, family, and community resources. Participates in the implementation of the plan of care of an assigned case load to ensure quality, continuity of care, and achievement of patient outcomes. Identifies deviations from normal Nursing and normal patient condition status. Initiates appropriate actions based on the deviation. What is Required? Graduate of an accredited Certificate, Diploma, Associates or Baccalaureate School of Nursing. 1+ year of experience as a nurse in a clinical care setting. Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment Home Health experience is preferred, but not required.
