Job Description Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to support various procedures. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skill in the recognition and management of emergency situations. Job Function: 02. Documentation. Maintains complete and accurate documentation. Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patients progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient's chart including patient education. Maintains accurate documentation of any changes in the patient's status and of any interventions taken. Provides complete charting of patient's procedure and charge documentation to help ensure accurate billing. Completes post case data sheet completely and legibly. Job Function: 03. Educational Requirements and Mentoring. Fulfills mandatory education obligations. Maintains BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and is able to identify areas for clinical and professional growth. Attends pertinent educational offerings and staff meetings to keep abreast of changes within the unit and hospital. Actively pursues professional growth and development by taking the initiative to obtain information on new equipment and technology. Assists in the orientation and education of new staff members as to proper use of equipment and department policies and procedures. Acts as a role model for other team members. Job Function: 04. Patient Satisfaction. Consistently responds to patients/families in a professional, courteous, positive manner. Acts as a patient advocate and assures that a patients’ rights are respected, identifies the needs of the patient/family on admission and communicates them to the physician, social worker and/or case manager. Identifies and reports all risk management issues in a timely manner. Required QUALIFICATIONS Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification. Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
